Q. How old do I have to be to audition?
13 to 23
Q. What is expected at the audition process?
We will be looking at dance, drama and singing disciplines. You spend 45 minutes in each discipline, working as a group and individually. It’s a great session where you will meet people that are passionate about Music Theatre! There is a great atmosphere whilst you perform and learn.
Q. What standard do I have to be to audition?
Some people are stronger in certain disciplines than others. Concerned that you have two left feet, but you know you can belt out a top C!? Don’t worry, we look at your strengths when casting roles and, as we rehearse, you strengthen all three skills.
One very important thing that thecompany is looking for is team players. It’s all about being part of a close ‘company’, no egos please!
Q. Do I have to prepare anything for the audition.
Nope, just bring yourself, comfy clothes and a BIG bottle of water! Once everyone’s registered it’s straight into it, no waiting!
Q. How long does it take to know if I had a successful audition?
We will give you an answer within a week of your audition. You will be asked to come to a recall if you are going forward and that will be a 2 hour session with the emphasis on acting.
Q.  What if I’m not successful?
If you’ve not been successful this time, you can attend a Company workshop during the year to help prepare you for future auditions or to work on a particular aspect of your performance skills.
Q.  If I am chosen for the cast, when is the residential?
There will be an overnight casting residential and the date will be set once all places in the cast are offered.  The main residential will be 30 July to 11 August 2012.  From 30 July to 8 August it is held outside Manchester.  The Company moves to the theatre on 8 August and those who live close can be non-residential for those  final days, if they wish.  Residential accommodation is of course available during those days – plus transport to and from the theatre.
Q. What is the cost?
Email thecompany.liz@gmail.com when you are offered a place in the cast and you will be sent information about possible bursary assistance at the same time.
